Anthony Senagore MD, MS, MBA

Dr. Senagore specializes in enhanced recovery, laparoscopic
bowel resection, surgeries for Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, rectal
cancer, and the treatment and management of anorectal disorders. He is also a
researcher, specializing in molecular and genetic changes in colorectal cancer,
laparoscopic bowel surgery, and new surgical treatments for incontinence and
constipation. He served as both an advisor to the Relative Value Update
Committee for over 10 years and member/chair of the CMS Practicing Physicians
Advisory Committee for 4 years.
Dr. Senagore serves as Professor of General Surgery for CMU
CMED. Previously he served as
Vice-Chair, Department of Surgery of the Keck School of Medicine at the
University of Southern California and was Vice President/Chief Academic Officer
for Spectrum Health. Other past
appointments include Professor of Surgery at Michigan State University and
Krause-Lieberman Chair in laparoscopic colorectal surgery at The Cleveland
Clinic. He earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from Michigan State University
Dr. Senagore is board certified in general surgery and colon
and rectal surgery. He is a member of numerous associations, such as the
American College of Surgeons and the American Society of Colon and Rectal
Surgeons. He is a past-president of the latter organization. In addition, Dr.
Senagore is a Director of both the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgeons
and the American Board of Surgery. Dr. Senagore also serves as the Vice-Chair
of the Colorectal Surgery Residency Review Committee. He is a national and
international speaker, has edited five books in colon and rectal surgery, and
authored more than 190 peer-reviewed publications and 20 textbook chapters.
