    Leadership Scholarships for Residents and Associate Fellows Deadline January 4, 2019

    RAS-ACS is accepting applications for the 12th annual Leadership Scholarships available for Residents and Associate Fellows of the College. The scholarships cover tuition, travel, and subsistence for one of several ACS courses, and will be awarded competitively to four young surgeons who best exemplify an important mission of RAS-ACS—developing future leaders for the field of surgery. The available courses are:

    Residents only may apply:

    Applicants should be prepared to submit:

    A letter of request detailing the reasons for applying and the desired course
    A letter of support from the applicant's program director or department chair confirming that the applicant will be able to have time away from the department to attend the course (If in private practice, indicate "not applicable.")
    A letter of support from a colleague, mentor, or other staff person supporting the individual's application (Associate Fellows only)

    The deadline for receipt of applications is 5:00 pm (ET), Friday, Jan. 4. No exceptions will be made for late or incomplete applications. Once all applications are received, the executive committee will review them and select one individual for each course.

    The Jeannette and H. Peter Kriendler Charitable Trust has supported the College since 2004 with grants dedicated to training young surgeons through the RAS-ACS Leadership Scholarship Award.
