To receive an all-expenses-paid trip to the ACS Clinical Congress 2017:

This program provides up to three awards of $5,000 each to subsidize the participation of a Fellow or Associate Fellow serving a small community. Awardees will either attend Clinical Congress 2017, in San Diego, CA, or may propose a plan for additional training or research appropriate to a rural surgeon.
The Oweida Scholarship is available to an ACS member in any surgical specialty who is a fellow or associate fellow under age 55 on the date of application, and who is serving a small town or rural community in the US or Canada.
Applicants must submit a 1-2 page essay discussing whether they are applying for a trip to the Clinical Congress, or for a personal training or research project; the applicant’s motivation for submitting an application; and why he or she is qualified to receive the scholarship.
