David Nahrwold MD FACS has written a wonderfully readable and erudite biography of C Rollins Hanlon MD FACS. It’s lavishly illustrated and organized by chapters in an amazing life. Dr Hanlon participated in many, if not all, of the new developments in surgery during his lifetime. In a time when we all seem to be questioning our vocation, it is a welcome read. I recommend it highly.
