  • Join Us in Boston for Clinical Congress 2018

    Clinical Congress 2018 will feature outstanding education and training opportunities for surgeons, surgery residents, medical students, and members of surgical teams. The hallmarks of the Clinical Congress are a broad range of outstanding hands-on and didactic learning opportunities and timely discourse on the most relevant surgical practices and research, as well as unparalleled access to peers. This year's Clinical Congress will be held in Boston, MA, on October 21–25, 2018. We hope to see you there!
  • Call for Late-Breaking Clinical Trial Abstracts

    You are invited to submit your scientific research from prospective clinical trials to be considered for a dedicated scientific forum session at the Clinical Congress 2018, October 21–25 in Boston, MA. This new session is designed to highlight practice-changing clinical research relevant to the surgeon. The research must be original or previously presented within the past six months and of sufficient scientific and practice importance to be considered. Late-breaking abstracts must be submitted by August 1.
  • ACS Communities Infrastructure Maintenance July 14

    ACS Communities will undergo infrastructure maintenance on Saturday, July 14. Although visitors may anticipate a brief downtime during the maintenance window, the site will not be down during the entire allotted time frame. Saturday's maintenance window will begin at 10 pm Central and last for approximately four to eight hours. We apologize for the disruption and appreciate your patience.
  • Register to Attend Clinical Congress 2018!

    Register to attend Clinical Congress, the premier annual surgical meeting for surgeons, surgery residents, medical students, and members of surgical teams. This year's Clinical Congress will be held in Boston, MA, on October 21–25, 2018.

    The purpose of the Clinical Congress is to keep ACS Members and interested non-Fellow physicians abreast of the current status of the art and science of surgery. To accomplish its purpose, the Clinical Congress offers a highly diversified program of continuing education in all specialties of surgery and in important fields of science, socioeconomics, and medical education. It holds the preeminent place among all College activities designed to raise the standards of surgical practice and improve the care of the surgical patient.

  • Statement Concerning Recommendations for Operating Room Attire

    The American College of Surgeons (ACS), the American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA), the Association of peri-Operative Registered Nurses (AORN), the Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (APIC), the Association of Surgical Technologists (AST), the Council on Surgical and Perioperative Safety (CSPS); and The Joint Commission (TJC) met on February 27, 2018, to review and discuss the literature related to recommendations for operating room (OR) attire, specifically ear and hair covering.
  • Register for the ACS Quality and Safety Conference

    Register today for the ACS Quality and Safety Conference, July 21–24, in Orlando, FL. The conference brings together nurses, surgeons, administrators, and trainees from ACS Quality Programs to discuss the latest in quality initiatives, data collection and utilization, and best practices in the field of surgery. The scientific program, scheduled in discipline- and theme-based tracks, will focus specifically on the needs of various learner groups and ACS Quality Programs.
