REGISTER BY OCTOBER 3, 2016 - QUALITY IMPROVEMENT COURSE
FOR RESIDENTS AND FELLOWS
Please join us for The American College of Surgeons (ACS)
- Residents Leading Quality - Pilot Course for Residents and Fellows. The
course is scheduled for Sunday, October 16 from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm (breakfast
and lunch included). The course will precede the official start of the ACS
Clinical Congress 2016 in Washington, DC.
The course is designed for residents and fellows
interested in quality improvement. Participants will be introduced to the
basics of QI including: the identification of problem, data review, QI models
and techniques, and patient and provider engagement strategies. National experts
will be on hand to discuss overcoming barriers and to provide advice regarding
a career in the area of quality improvement. The course will emphasize
first steps for initiating QI in a surgical practice or hospital using
practical case-based scenarios. The information learned will prepare the
participants to return to their institutions ready to engage in quality and
safety practices, share ideas with faculty and co-trainees and disseminate new
tools and strategies in compliance with modern recommendations from the ACGME,
RRC and ABS.
There is limited seating available for participation in

October 3, 2016 with your full name, credentials, institution, and surgical
specialty. Please mention any relevant QI experience or aspirations in
the body of your email (no more than 75 words). The fee for this course is $150
for Resident members and $200 for Resident non-members. Attendees will be
expected to review pre-course materials and attendee feedback will be used for
subsequent course development.
A Certificate of Attendance will be provided upon
completion.
