In memory of Claude H. Organ, Jr., MD, FACS, a Past-President of the American College of Surgeons (ACS), his family and friends have established an annual fellowship for an outstanding young surgeon. The $5,000 fellowship allows a U.S. or Canadian Fellow or Associate Fellow under age 45 who is a member of the Society of Black Academic Surgeons, the Association of Women Surgeons, or the Surgical Section of the National Medical Association to attend an educational meeting or make an extended visit to an institution chosen by the fellow in pursuit of specific research interests. All applications for the 2017 award are due June 1.
The full requirements for the Claude H. Organ Traveling Fellowship are posted on the ACS website. A fellow will be selected by August. Submit applications as well as questions to the attention of the ACS Scholarships Administrator, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
