  • Surgical History Group Poster Session Call for Abstracts

    Abstracts are now being accepted for the 2017 Surgical History Group Poster Session. The Surgical History Group offers surgical history enthusiasts the opportunity to present on their subject of interest relating to the diseases, techniques, technology, events, or personalities of particular importance to the field of surgery and its subspecialties. Accepted abstracts will be selected for poster presentation at Clinical Congress. Presenters will be eligible for first and second place awards. Please submit abstracts by 10 pm Central on June 1, 2017.

  • Honor Your Mentor on National Doctors' Day

    Did you have a trusted mentor to help guide you on your path to becoming a surgeon? Tribute gifts--gifts made in memory of or in honor of someone--are a great way to say thank you. March 30 is National Doctors’ Day, and the ACS Foundation will help you honor your mentor on this special day. Make a donation on or before March 30, and the ACS Foundation will send an acknowledgment letter to your honoree (or family if in memoriam) noting the National Doctors’ Day celebration. A special recognition page, sponsored by the ACS Foundation, will feature all participating donors and honorees in the Bulletin, ACS NewsScope, and on the ACS website. Your generous contribution will show your gratitude while advancing the ACS mission of saving lives.

  • March 1 Deadline for Submitting Clinical Congress Abstracts and Videos

    The deadline to submit abstracts and videos for the 2017 Clinical Congress in San Diego, CA, is Wednesday, March 1. Abstracts should be no longer than 250 words, and videos length should not exceed 10 minutes. For more information, be sure to click the link below.

    Nominate a colleague for the ACS/Pfizer Surgical Volunteerism and Humanitarian Awards. The awards celebrate ACS Fellows and members whose altruism, dedication, and contribution have made a lasting difference. The call for nominations closes February 28.

  • Leadership & Advocacy Summit May 6-9

    Mark your calendars and save the date for May 6–9, 2017, at the Renaissance Washington, DC Downtown Hotel. The Leadership portion of the meeting will include a full day of sessions devoted to building communication and strategic thinking skills for effective leadership in and out of the operating room. The Advocacy portion of the meeting will provide you with the opportunity to hear the legislative priorities the College is pursuing on your behalf under the new administration, and will bring together ACS surgeon and surgical resident members to develop their advocacy skills, learn about legislative and health policy priorities, and advocate in meetings with members of Congress and their staffs.
